Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Stephen Blewett has officially assumed role as the new Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana.<\/b><\/p>\n

He takes over from Selorm Adadevoh, who has been reassigned to serve as chief commercial officer of the MTN Group.<\/p>\n

Mr. Blewett, before occupying his new role was MTN Operations Executive, Markets.<\/p>\n

He re-joined MTN in July 2023 as the Operations Executive for Markets, with executive responsibility for the Group\u2019s smaller West and Central Africa markets, and for providing broader operations support across that region to the Group\u2019s Senior Vice President for Markets.<\/p>\n

Before that, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Digicel. He spent seven years at MTN in the role of CEO for MTN Benin and then MTN Cameroon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe welcome Stephen into the MTN Ghana family and look forward to working with him to move the company forward to achieve our Ambition 2025 strategy and beyond,\u201d Chairman of the Board of MTN Ghana, Ishmael Yamson said.<\/p>\n

The new CEO of MTN Ghana, Stephen Blewett, was welcomed with traditional dance moves as he arrived.<\/p>\n

Stephen Blewett brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having most recently served as the group chief operating officer of Digicel, based in Kingston, Jamaica.<\/p>\n

During his role, he oversaw 20 country CEOs and spearheaded developments in key areas such as marketing, information and technology, procurement, financial services, gaming and digital media.<\/p>\n

Before his tenure at Digicel, Blewett served as the CEO of MTN Cameroon, where he made significant contributions to the company\u2019s growth and success.<\/p>\n

He previously held similar leadership roles in the telecommunications industry, including chief executive officer of MTN Benin and chief commercial officer at the Namibian mobile operator MTC.<\/p>\n

In 2020, he was voted MTN CEO of the Year by his peers. Blewett\u2019s career also includes notable positions such as chief executive of 3D Holdings, managing director of Autopage Cellular, marketing and sales executive at Telkom Mobile, and executive head of sales and marketing at MCell in Mozambique.<\/p>\n

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.<\/p>\n

Blewett is also a published author of books on marketing, sales and business, further demonstrating his expertise and thought leadership in the industry.<\/p>\n
