Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito has commended Ghana Football Association (GFA) boss Kurt Okraku for his role in compelling the team to embark on a difficult yet successful journey in the CAF Confederation Cup.<\/b><\/p>\n

Despite being touted as underdogs at the beginning of the competition, the Ghana FA Cup holders have defied the odds by reaching the semifinals of the competition \u2013 a feat only achieved by Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko in the last 20 years with respect to Ghanaian teams.<\/p>\n

Their latest feat was achieved after defeating Stade Malien of Mali, a former champion having held them to a 1-1 draw on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi following a 2-1 first-leg advantage in Bamako.<\/p>\n

Despite it being their debut, the Still Believe lads have surpassed expectations and have rewritten their target as they now aim for glory.<\/p>\n

According to Zito, Kurt Okraku, who doubles as the team\u2019s director believed in the squad and allowed them to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup despite objections from other authorities who felt the challenge was too big for the young club.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe directors didn\u2019t want us to, but the main man Kurt disagreed with them and I\u2019m sure we didn\u2019t disappoint him, this is a dream come through for us, the ultimate is our target now\u201d. Karim Zito said after the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Egyptian giants Zamalek stand in their way as semifinal opponents with the remaining rounds of the competition undoubtedly going to prove more daunting for the dark horses of the competition.<\/p>\n
