Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Former President John Drmanai Mahama is the democrat, visionary and statesman many are being asked to emulate, North Tongu Member of Parliament Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has said.<\/b><\/p>\n

As Ranking Member on the Foreign Affairs Committee of Ghana\u2019s Parliament, Mr Ablakwa said he always fascinated by the great respect H.E. John Mahama commands in international corridors.<\/p>\n

He said these while congratulating former President John Drmanai Mahama for winning the Prestigious 2024 Africa Advancement Award for Exemplary Leadership at the African Heritage Awards (AHA) 2024 event held in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday, April 13.<\/p>\n

Mr Mahama won the award for his contribution to Ghana\u2019s democracy and also for peacefully handing over power to his successor after losing the 2016 general elections.<\/p>\n

In a post on his X platform, Mr Ablakwa said \u201cI congratulate and celebrate Former President H.E. John Mahama for consistently making Ghana proud on the international stage.<\/p>\n

John Mahama\u2019s book, \u201cMy First Coup D\u2019Etat: And Other True Stories from the Lost Decades of Africa\u201d has just been translated into the Russian language for readers, researchers, academics and book enthusiasts in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and parts of Israel where the Russian language is spoken natively.<\/p>\n

John Mahama wins Prestigious 2024 Africa Advancement Award for Exemplary Leadership<\/p>\n

\u201cMahama\u2019s literary work continues to attract extraordinary global appeal. Over the weekend, H.E. John Mahama also won the prestigious 2024 Africa Advancement Award for Exemplary Leadership.
