{"id":71230,"date":"2024-04-18T15:09:59","date_gmt":"2024-04-18T15:09:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/uncategorized\/alliance-for-revolutionary-change-launched"},"modified":"2024-04-18T16:40:59","modified_gmt":"2024-04-18T16:40:59","slug":"alliance-for-revolutionary-change-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/alliance-for-revolutionary-change-launched","title":{"rendered":"Alliance for Revolutionary Change launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana. <\/strong><\/span><b>Leaders of ten political groupings have signed a pact to contest the 2024 general elections under the banner of a coalition called the Alliance for Revolutionary Change.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The groups making up the Alliance include, the Movement for Change, National Interest Movement, Third Force Movement among others.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the launch of the alliance on April 17, Leader, Alan Kyerematen courted the support of all Ghanaians indicating that the Alliance is well positioned to transform the country.<\/p>\n<p>It would be recalled that on April 4, the Movement for Change (M4C) founded by Alan John Kyerematen, and the National Interest Movement (NIM), a political Civil Society Coalition, convened by Dr. Michael Abu Sakara Foster, announced that they have concluded talks with a number of political entities and individuals to establish a grand Alliance to contest the 2024 general elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Alliance, named the \u2018Alliance for Revolutionary Change\u2019 (ARC) will aggressively mobilize Ghanaians from across the country, particularly the youth and women, irrespective of their religious, political, and ethnic affiliations, in a grand coalition to elect the first Independent Candidate as the President of the Republic of Ghana. The Alliance when voted into Government, will focus on breaking the cycle of poverty and reset the country on a new path to prosperity,\u201d portions of the press release read.<\/p>\n<p>According to the release, \u201cThe Alliance seeks to end the dominance of the duopoly, the NDC and the NPP, in Ghanaian politics, two Parties which after 32 years in government, have failed to address the fundamental challenges of development in our beloved country. The divisiveness in Ghanaian politics, the \u2018Winner takes all\u2019 syndrome as well as the lack of continuity in the execution of government projects which have been associated with the duopoly, have brought untold hardships on the good people of Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It assured that \u201cThe Alliance will work towards forming an all-inclusive Government of National Unity with representation from Political Parties, the Business Community, Farmers and Fishermen, Labour Unions, Faith-Based Organizations, Traditional Authorities, Civil Society Organizations, Academia, Media, and other Stakeholder Interest Groups.
