Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Wrorkds and Housing Kojo Oppong Nrumah has announced that the government of Ghana through the Ministry has issued a Request for Proposals to select a private investor for the completion of the Saglemi Affordable Housing Project.<\/b><\/p>\n

The main objective is to complete and utilize the 1506 housing units at Saglemi, Mr Oppong Nkrumah said.<\/p>\n

He stated that the Ministry is looking forward to partner the private sector to complete the project for the benefit of the people of Ghana.<\/p>\n

In a post on his X platform, the Ofoase Ayirebi lawmaker said \u201cthe government of Ghana through the Ministry of Works and Housing issued a Request for Proposals to select a private investor for the completion of the Saglemi Affordable Housing Project.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe main objective is to complete and utilize the 1506 housing units at Saglemi. The Ministry of Works and Housing is looking forward to partner the private sector to complete the project for the benefit of the people of Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier, he said at a press conference on Wednesdsy April 17 that \u201cGhanaians want the phenomenon of uncompleted or abandoned mass housing projects to end. Today, some of the projects from the Kufuor era are still uncompleted and hanging and this one [Saglemi] is still yet to be completed and adds to the narrative that we don\u2019t finish projects when we start.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you have a housing deficit of 1.8 million that we are trying to reduce as the years go by, already, there are about 40,000 units that we deliver yearly as a country and it is not enough to close the gap so if all of these projects keep hanging out there, it will even deter future projects from being embarked upon, and that is why we take advantage of this opportunity to reverse this trend.\u201d<\/p>\n
