{"id":71345,"date":"2024-04-19T16:01:02","date_gmt":"2024-04-19T16:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/uncategorized\/osp-files-fresh-charges-against-former-ppa-boss"},"modified":"2024-04-19T16:26:34","modified_gmt":"2024-04-19T16:26:34","slug":"osp-files-fresh-charges-against-former-ppa-boss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/osp-files-fresh-charges-against-former-ppa-boss","title":{"rendered":"OSP files fresh charges against former PPA boss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has filed fresh charges against the former Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Adjenim Boateng Adjei.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The OSP filed the charges on 17 April 2024,<\/p>\n<p>Mr Adjenim Boateng Adjei faces eight charges related to the misuse of public office for personal gain and manipulation of the procurement process to gain an unfair advantage in securing procurement contracts.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, one charge of misusing public office for personal profit against his co-accused, Francis Kwaku, who happens to be his brother-in-law, has been dropped.<\/p>\n<p>The case was referred to the OSP by the President of the Republic, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on the back of an audio-visual documentary titled Contracts for Sale \u2013 an investigative journalistic piece conducted by Manasseh Azure Awuni and aired by the Multimedia Group.<\/p>\n<p>Initially charged alongside his brother-in-law, Francis Kwaku Arhin, who served as the CEO of Talent Discovery Limited, on 25 May 2022, Mr. Adjei is alleged to be the majority shareholder in Talent Discovery Limited, with Mr. Arhin holding a minority stake.
