Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged party members to join forces and go into the December 7 election to win rather than fighting over positions while in opposition.<\/b>
\nAddressing party supporters at the outdooring ceremony of the party\u2019s running mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman, at the UPSA Auditorium, Mr. Asiedu Nketia said, \u201cLet us all go for the hunt, when we kill the game, we can share the meat.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

According to Mr. Nketia, some people within the party are \u201cfighting over who will be what in the next government,\u201d emphasising that some party members are not just \u201cfighting about the positions they will occupy; they are telling all others that they will be the key makers and they will be making the appointments.\u201d<\/p>\n

He advised, \u201cIf we are not careful, this will dampen the enthusiasm and the spirit of our followers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The national chairman used the occasion to caution party members that the party has much to do to make winning the upcoming election a reality.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to assure everyone that we are not there yet. Don\u2019t be fighting about positions and don\u2019t be struggling about who will make appointments. Let us all go for the hunting first, and when we kill the game, we will now argue about how to share the meat,\u201d said Mr. Asiedu Nketia.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the general secretary of the party, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has observed that the next NDC government will work to restore the dignity that has been deprived of the Vice President\u2019s office for the past seven and a half years.<\/p>\n

Mr. Kwetey emphasised that the outdooring of Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang is \u201cnot just for the National Democratic Congress but for this country we all love.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe country is at the moment in the state of collapse which is not physical infrastructure or the economy of our country,\u201d said Fifi Kwetey, indicating that the \u201creal collapse of our country is a moral collapse that we have seen over the last nearly eight years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Kwetey stressed that the spirit of Ghanaians is \u201cat an all-time low.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued that the level of corruption, deceit, pains and lies has choked the citizens and that \u201cthe people of Ghana cannot breathe.\u201d<\/p>\n

He emphasised that the next NDC government will work to restore hope to the administration of the country to the benefit of the entire population.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the general secretary added that Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang would be supportive of Mr Mahama toward the realisation of the economic recovery policies to the benefit of Ghanaians.<\/p>\n
