Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), former Afigya Kwabre South Constituency Chairman of the NPP, has advised NPP members in Ejisu not to sleep until the party\u2019s candidate, Kwabena Boateng, is elected MP of the area in Tuesday\u2019s by-election.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking after a unity walk today [Saturday, April 27] at Ejisu, the most affable political Messiah in the region spoke about the need for the party to stay united and avoid complacency to secure victory for their candidate.<\/p>\n

According to him, all members should embark on a door-to-door campaign to convey the good message of the NPP to every electorate in the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cTuesday\u2019s by-election should be a must-win for the NPP so let\u2019s all rally behind lawyer, and campaign vigorously to ensure that he wins by a wide margin.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ejisu By-Election: Former Ejisu MP goes independent in upcoming by-election<\/p>\n

Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, was of the view that Tuesday\u2019s by-election is of importance to the party as far as parliamentary business is concerned, so they should all come on board, put resources together, and make sure the NPP wins on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

He cautioned them to be mindful of their choice of words, which he believes can jeopardise the fortunes of the election.<\/p>\n

The sudden demise of the NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, John Kumah, who was also a Deputy Finance Minister, necessitated the polls held on Saturday.<\/p>\n

At the end of voting, Lawyer Boateng, who is the NPP\u2019s Second Vice Chairman in Ejisu, secured a staggering 394 votes out of the 1,033 total valid votes cast to win the polls.<\/p>\n

He was followed in second place by Helena Mensah, who managed 302 votes, followed by Yaa Akyawmaa Aboagye, who also garnered 229 votes to finish in third place.<\/p>\n

Dr. Evans Duah and ex-Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, who were tipped by political pundits to win the polls, had 63 and 35 votes, respectively.<\/p>\n

Portia Acheampong Abronye had 6 votes, Aaron Prince Duah and Klinsman Karikari Mensa secured 2 votes each, and Abena Pokuaa Amoah-Boaitey had no vote.<\/p>\n
