Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>In a recent statement, the Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare has lauded Ghana\u2019s Agenda 111 initiative as one of the most rapidly advancing projects in the country\u2019s healthcare sector.<\/b><\/p>\n

This ambitious endeavour, aimed at constructing 111 hospitals across Ghana, he says, has seen unprecedented progress due to the government\u2019s unwavering commitment and efficient project management.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Nana Yaa Brefo and Isaac Ekow JB on Yen Nsempa, Onua FM, Dr. Nsiah-Asare emphasized the government\u2019s dedication to ensuring the timely payment of contractors, a strategy designed to foster their continued engagement and expedite the construction of these vital healthcare facilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are paying them,\u201d he affirmed, \u201cit is one of the fast-paced government projects we have in Ghana today and you can ask any contractor, we have gone forward with this project,\u201d underlining the project\u2019s priority status and the administration\u2019s proactive approach to its execution.<\/p>\n

Notably, Dr. Nsiah-Asare commended President Akufo-Addo and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their inclusive approach to healthcare development, which transcends political boundaries.<\/p>\n

Contrary to focusing solely on NPP strongholds, the initiative aims to benefit all Ghanaians, irrespective of political affiliations or geographical locations.<\/p>\n

Highlighting this commitment to inclusivity, Dr. Nsiah-Asare cited the example of the Volta Region, aligned with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) which he says despite its political leanings, the region has been earmarked to receive seven (7) of the proposed hospital projects, reflecting the government\u2019s resolve to address healthcare needs across the nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to commend President Akufo-Addo and his Vice Bawumia for not only focusing on one area or region to build the hospitals, they thought about the totality of the health system of Ghana.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you look closely we did not only focus on the area of strong hold of the NPP. For example in the Volta Region, we have 7 of these projects been built there because all Ghanaians pay taxes,\u201d he added, emphasizing the principle of collective responsibility towards healthcare provision.<\/p>\n

Providing further insights into the progress of Agenda 111, Dr. Nsiah-Asare revealed that approximately 40 hospitals have already been completed by the NPP government out of the 90 that have been initiated, each at varying stages of construction.<\/p>\n

With optimism and determination, Dr. Nsiah-Asare expressed confidence that the entirety of the 90 projects would be finalized by the end of December 2024, marking a significant milestone in Ghana\u2019s healthcare infrastructure development.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are about 40 hospitals that the NPP government has completed and very soon the remaining will be completed as well. This is a general report, out of the 111 hospitals, 90 have already been initiated and are at different stages of construction, we have faith and hope that by December 2024 ending those projects should be complete,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
