Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>In a surprising revelation, the Senior Campaign Aide to Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, Sammi Awuku, extolled the versatility of the New Patriotic Party\u2019s (NPP) campaign song \u201cNana Winner\u201d composed by legendary Ghanaian musician Daddy Lumba in 2013.<\/b><\/p>\n

Awuku described the song as \u201cbruutaa,\u201d a term synonymous with a masterpiece, noting its widespread appeal that transcends traditional boundaries so much that it is played in both churches and nightclubs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s incredible how Daddy Lumba\u2019s campaign song for the NPP is, it is \u2018bruutaa.\u2019 It\u2019s played in both nightclubs and churches,\u201d Awuku remarked to host of Yen Nsempa, Nana Yaa Brefo co-hosted by Isaac Ekow JB on May 14.<\/p>\n

Awuku\u2019s comments come at a crucial juncture in Ghanaian politics as the nation gears up for the 2024 general elections.<\/p>\n

The acknowledgment of the campaign song\u2019s impact underscores the significance of music as a tool for political mobilization and engagement.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Awuku hinted at an upcoming release from the NPP camp end of May, promising a song that would equally be of quality and appeal. However, he remained tight-lipped about the identity of the composers, opting to keep the suspense alive until the song\u2019s official unveiling.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that the new composition aims to capture the essence of the NPP\u2019s message while resonating with contemporary audiences.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not want to mention names, but honourable people both old and young artistes are composing songs for us,\u201d Awuku stated.<\/p>\n
