Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Black Starlets coach Laryea Kingston has acknowledged the prowess of Benin despite securing a 2-0 win over their opponents in the WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations.<\/b><\/p>\n

Ghana\u2019s U17 edged the Beninois in their second and final group game to secure a place in the semi-finals of the competition.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the game, Ghana were tipped to dominate in the game given their ruthless performance in their 5-1 win over Ivory Coast in the opening game.<\/p>\n

Mark Kagawa Mensah and Theophilus Ayamga struck in the first half to ensure Ghana maintained their perfect start in the tournament.<\/p>\n

However, Laryea was not swayed by the scoreline, stating it was a \u201cdifficult\u201d game for his side.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis game was very difficult for us. People thought it would be a walk in the park, but it wasn\u2019t. It was a very difficult match,\u201d said Kingston.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were very lucky that we saw their game against Ivory Coast. So that gave us an advantage to see what they are bringing on board. There are a lot of good teams at this tournament.\u201d<\/p>\n

The team is now hoping to win their upcoming semi-final game to fish in the top two of the tournament and return to the U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) having missed out since 2017.<\/p>\n
