Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Laryea Kingston hasn\u2019t reported to Ghana U-17 hotel following his resignation, states the Ghana Football Association (GFA) ahead of the WAFU B U-17 Championship third-place playoff against Nigeria on Tuesday.<\/b><\/p>\n

The GFA suggests it does not know the whereabouts of Laryea Kingston, who announced he would step down after the tournament following Saturday\u2019s shock defeat to Burkina Faso in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n

The Black Starlets failed to qualify for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations and also the World Cup.<\/p>\n

Qualification to the AFCON was the team\u2019s ultimate goal, and Kingston expressed disappointment at the press conference before announcing he had decided to resign.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter we came back from Russia, that\u2019s when I decided that whether we win and qualify or not, I\u2019m moving on. After this tournament, I\u2019m resigning as the U-17 coach. I have made that decision already,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The GFA has accepted the decision but is surprised by the actions of Kingston. According to the FA, Kingston got off the team bus while the team was going to the hotel.<\/p>\n

He failed to attend the team\u2019s evening meeting with the management committee and has since not reported at the team hotel.<\/p>\n

According to the GFA, current assistant coaches will take charge of the team for the third-place playoff against Nigeria.<\/p>\n
