Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Torgbui Badu IV, President of the Youth Council of the International Ewe Council (IEC), has called on Ewe indigenes to remain peaceful and law-abiding wherever they reside.<\/b><\/p>\n

Known privately as Mr. Paul Dogboe, the father of boxing sensation Isaac Dogboe, Torgbui Badu IV emphasized the importance of adhering to the values of honesty, integrity, and communal living.<\/p>\n

\u201cWherever you find yourself, endeavour to respect the laws there and contribute your quota to national development. As Ewes, our hallmark of being peaceful and law-abiding is unquestionable, and we must never depart from it,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

He specifically commended Ewe individuals in Western Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, and the Diaspora for their peaceful conduct.<\/p>\n

\u201cParticularly, I want to congratulate our Ewe brothers and sisters for their peaceful conduct in the just-ended National Assembly elections in Togo. I have the firm belief that our compatriots in Ghana will follow the same in the upcoming December elections as they have so far demonstrated civility in the ongoing limited voter registration,\u201d Torgbui Badu IV added.<\/p>\n

As a retired British military officer, Torgbui Badu IV also urged vigilance against influences that promote separatist and secessionist movements, as well as civil strife and unrest.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor centuries, Ewes are peace-loving people, and this is our DNA we must cherish and guard jealously,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n

Discussing his new role as President of the Youth Council of the IEC, Torgbui Badu IV, a divisional chief in Anyako, expressed excitement about the challenge. He mentioned that programs are being developed to empower and employ the Ewe youth.<\/p>\n

Founded three years ago, the International Ewe Council aims to unite Ewes in Western Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, and the Diaspora, promoting oneness, culture, and societal development.<\/p>\n

Chaired by Torgbui Edjorssa of Togo, the Council held its inaugural annual general meeting in the Togolese capital.<\/p>\n

Plans are underway for Accra to host this year\u2019s annual general meeting.<\/p>\n
