{"id":7447,"date":"2019-12-19T12:08:07","date_gmt":"2019-12-19T12:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/ghana\/?p=7447"},"modified":"2019-12-19T12:08:07","modified_gmt":"2019-12-19T12:08:07","slug":"we-cannot-pay-your-customers-menzgold-lawyers-reject-instruction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/we-cannot-pay-your-customers-menzgold-lawyers-reject-instruction","title":{"rendered":"We cannot pay your customers \u2013 Menzgold lawyers reject instruction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Menzgold CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lawyers for defunct gold dealership firm, Menzgold say they are unable to undertake the payment of customers as instructed by the company.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Menzgold announced that it was commencing payment of customers from Friday, December 27, 2019, for a 36-month period.<\/p>\n<p>The company made this revelation in a statement signed by its Head of Communications, Nii Amarh Amarteifio and provided a detailed payment schedule and formula to be employed in making the disbursement.<\/p>\n<p>The statement indicated that since the company\u2019s assets remain frozen and it cannot access any of its bank accounts, \u201cour lawyers shall agree with claimants upon invitation, as to where and how to legally receive payment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClaims shall be settled in full and shall be subject to an invitation from our legal team: Kwame Akuffo &amp; Co. Unlimited,\u201d strictly following scheduled order.<\/p>\n<p>But Kwame Akuffo &amp; Co. in a press statement said it has informed \u201cthe Client [Menzgold] that the firm does not have the capacity to carry out the said exercise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe firm is, therefore, unable to accept instructions in that regard,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>The law firm has, instead, advised Menzgold to \u201cinstruct a third-party entity to carry out the instructions in respect of the above mentioned.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Menzgold CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah Lawyers for defunct gold dealership firm, Menzgold say they are unable to undertake the payment of customers as instructed by the company.
