Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western Region, Richard Kirk Mensah has voiced serious concerns over the impartiality of Ghana\u2019s judiciary under the tenure of President Nana Akufo-Addo.<\/b><\/p>\n

Mensah stated that the NDC has experienced a consistent lack of favorable rulings since President Akufo-Addo assumed office, leading to a pervasive sense of fear among party members facing legal battles.<\/p>\n

According to Mensah, the current judicial environment has made it highly unlikely for NDC members to win cases.<\/p>\n

He elaborated, \u201cA lot is happening in Ghana\u2019s Judicial System since Akufo-Addo became president.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny NDC member who finds themselves in court is gripped with fear because you know the chances of winning the case are slim, and the NPP person will be confident in going to the courthouse.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you consistently look at the case patterns, you will see that the NPP people are not speaking in a vacuum\u201d he told host of Yen Nsempa, Nana Yaa Brefo and co-hosted by Isaac Ekow JB on June 5.<\/p>\n

These statements come in the wake of a recent ruling by the Sekondi High Court, which issued an interlocutory injunction against Joana Gyan Cudjoe, barring her from acting as the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the Amenfi Central Constituency.<\/p>\n

The injunction, granted on May 31 by Justice G.K. Gyan-Kontoh, restrains Ms. Cudjoe from holding herself out as the duly elected candidate until the court reaches a final decision on the matter.<\/p>\n

Justice Gyan-Kontoh\u2019s ruling also restricts the NDC party and the Electoral Commission from recognizing or allowing Ms. Cudjoe to function in any capacity as the elected NDC Parliamentary candidate.<\/p>\n

The politician however stated that regardless the outcome of the court\u2019s decision, the NDC shall maintain its dominance and power in the constituency.<\/p>\n
