Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The National Lottery Authority( NLA) \u2018good causes\u2019 foundation project is making strides as more communities continue to benefit from its novelty.<\/b><\/p>\n

The gaming company through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has handed-over an ultra modern 12- seater lavatory for teachers and students.<\/p>\n

The facility comprises two washrooms for teachers (one male, one female), 10 washrooms for students (one converted for persons living with disability), a spacious changing room, a mechanized borehole, a polytank and two standing pipes.<\/p>\n

Director General of the NLA, Sammy Awuku who led the team to handover the facility said the NLA \u2018good causes\u2019 foundation has come to stay and it will continue to do more for communities.<\/p>\n

Accordingly he said through the lottery games, NLA has allocated a budget from the proceeds to support communities, festivals and hospitals.<\/p>\n

\u201d I am not surprised Aburi Girls has benefited from our good cause because that is what we are noted for. We know that not all the people who stake our games are able to win, therefore the money we get from those who win and those who are not lucky is what we use to support the communities\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201d We know that Aburi Girls is noted for good cultural maintenance so we have no shred of doubt that they will maintain this facility.<\/p>\n

We only plead that they will keep the facility well to serve generations to come.<\/p>\n

NLA will continue to support Aburi Girls SHS and we bless them for that\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapim South, Frank Aidoo said the government and the Aburi Old Girls Students Association have all done their part by assisting the school in many ways but what the NLA has done is unimaginable.<\/p>\n

\u201d We noticed that especially on admission days and visiting hours a lot of people troop into the school but there is usually not enough lavatory for them and that is quiet a discomfort for us all so this toilet facility has come at an appropriate time and is a good intervention to ensure hygiene and good health for students\u201d.<\/p>\n

Assistant Headmistress in charge of administration,Patricia Asare-Korang noted, that through a conversation with an old student of the school they got NLA to assist them.<\/p>\n

\u201d The students usually use the toilets in the dormitories but we don\u2019t subscribe to that because sometimes under the pretence of going to the washrooms they end up at their dormatories. Some don\u2019t even return to lectures at all. Our facilities are over stretched too so this support is timely. But like Oliver twist we will ask for more \u201c.<\/p>\n
