{"id":827,"date":"2019-08-09T13:46:38","date_gmt":"2019-08-09T13:46:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/ghana\/?p=827"},"modified":"2019-08-09T13:46:38","modified_gmt":"2019-08-09T13:46:38","slug":"nana-rescues-30-disabled-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/nana-rescues-30-disabled-women","title":{"rendered":"Nana Rescues 30 Disabled Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mohammed Awal in a pose with the beneficiaries<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Business Development has presented about GH\u00a2 31,000 to 30 women living with disability.<\/p>\n<p>About 50 percent of the amount is a grant and the rest to be paid in six months without interest.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation done on Thursday, August 8, 2019, at the forecourt of the Ministry in Accra, forms part of President Nana Akufo-Addo\u2019s support for Ghanaian Women with disability.<\/p>\n<p>It is to help the women expand their businesses and as well employ others.<\/p>\n<p>The women are from across areas such as IT, trade and commerce, fashion and food and beverages.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the ceremony to present the money, Minister of Business Development, Mohammed Awal, said President Akufo-Addo believed Ghana cannot develop without bringing everyone, including disabled persons, onboard.<\/p>\n<p>Two months ago, similar support was rendered to women.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Awal encouraged the beneficiaries to not only focus on expanding their businesses but at least employ one person.<\/p>\n<p>He stated emphatically that the intervention is to support women\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, there were plans to support about 1,000 women by the end of 2020.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that additionally, there were plans to support some 500 disabled men across the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mohammed Awal in a pose with the beneficiaries The Ministry of Business Development has presented about GH\u00a2 31,000 to 30 women living with disability.
