{"id":92886,"date":"2025-02-05T18:23:17","date_gmt":"2025-02-05T18:23:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/uncategorized\/traditional-council-sympathizes-with-otomfour-osei-tutu-ii-kumasi-asante-kotoko-fc"},"modified":"2025-03-07T15:29:52","modified_gmt":"2025-03-07T15:29:52","slug":"traditional-council-sympathizes-with-otomfour-osei-tutu-ii-kumasi-asante-kotoko-fc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/traditional-council-sympathizes-with-otomfour-osei-tutu-ii-kumasi-asante-kotoko-fc","title":{"rendered":"Traditional Council Sympathizes with Otomfour Osei Tutu II, Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Nsoatre Traditional Council in the Bono Region has sympathized with the deceased family, the Kumasi Asante Football Club (FC) and Asantehene Otomfour Osei Tutu II over the death of the club\u2019s passionate supporter.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>It condemned the uncouth \u201cbehaviour of some of the football fans that led to the untimely death of an ardent supporter of Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC\u201d, describing the death of the fan as unfortunate and unacceptable.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased identified as Francis Frimpong, popularly known as \u2018Pooley\u2019 was allegedly stabbed to death during the \u2018match day 19\u2019 of the premier league encounter between Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC and the Nsoatreman FC at the Professor Amoah Koromansah II stadium at Nsoatre.<\/p>\n<p>Police have since arrested and detained three suspects, including Mr Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, the owner and financier of the club and also the former Minister of Employment and Labour Relations in connection with the crime.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a news conference at Nsoatre in the Sunyani West Municipality, Nana Hinneh Marfo, the Dabehene (sub-chief) of the Traditional Council said: \u201cit is sad that this unfortunate behaviour happened on the stool land of Nsoatre which we see as unfortunate due to the cordial relationship between Nsoatreman and Asanteman dating back to 1740\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed the condolences of the chiefs and people of Nsoatre to the Asanteman and the Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II, as well as the widow of the deceased.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Nsoatre Traditional Council see football as a game that should unite families, villages, towns, cities and countries but what happened yesterday is a disgrace to all football lovers\u201d, Nana Marfo stated, and gave the assurance that the traditional council would do \u201ceverything within its means to uncover the perpetrators to face the laws of the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to assure all peace loving citizens that Nsoatre is a peaceful town and the chiefs would not superintend any unlawful acts that would bring disgrace and lawlessness into the country\u201d, Nana Marfo assured.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also hope to maintain the cordial relationship between Nsoatreman and Asanteman and would liaise with the security agencies to fight for justice for the family of the deceased too\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Ghana<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana.
