Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The first 30 days of President John Dramani Mahama began on January 7, 2025, the day he was inaugurated as the Sixth President of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.<\/b><\/p>\n

The first 30 days of President Mahama has shown a significant level of success chalked by his government in line with his resetting the nation agenda.<\/p>\n

President Mahama in his inaugural address at the Independence Square, assured Ghanaians that his administration would reset the nation as part of efforts to address its pressing challenges.<\/p>\n

He noted that Ghana was facing exceedingly tough economic challenges in recent times.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo the millions of my fellow countrymen and women who joined long queues and waited in the sun for their turn to vote for me, you have my sincerest thanks for honouring me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy firm, immutable assurance is that your votes will matter in the work that I will do to make a difference in the destiny of this dear nation of ours.\u201d<\/p>\n

The President spent part of his first day at work, January 8, receiving high profile dignitaries such as the Overlord of Gonjaland, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale (I), who paid a courtesy call on him to congratulate him on his assumption of the highest officer of the land.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a ceremony to swear in the last batch of substantive ministers, the President outlined some measures taken over the last month to reset the country.<\/p>\n

The President announced that under 30 days, he had constituted a working team for the Presidency, both for the President and Vice President\u2019s offices.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that he had set in motion the process for the review of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.<\/p>\n

The President has also put in place a planning team to work on the National Economic Dialogue.<\/p>\n

He announced a team to plan the National Forum on Education.<\/p>\n

President Mahama said he had begun the National Tripartite Committee Negotiations with the view of setting the base pay and minimum wage.<\/p>\n

He also announced the 2025 Hajj Fare, which is GH\u00a213,000 cheaper than what was paid last year.<\/p>\n

President Mahama said he had begun to implement the 120-day social contract with Ghanaians.<\/p>\n

During the President\u2019s nationwide \u201cThank You Tour\u201d, which started from Ho, the Volta Regional Capital on Friday, January 24, Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State and President of Asogli Traditional Area, in assessing the President\u2019s performance within the first one month noted that \u201cSo far, so good\u201d.<\/p>\n
