\u201cThis will address delays associated with the payment during the previous government\u2019s era.\u201d President Mahama<\/p>\n

\u201cWe in the Northern Region are proud to have contributed to your historic victory in the elections.\u201d Ali Adolf John, Northern Regional Minister<\/p>\n

\u201cI am appealing to you Mr President to consider establishing a military barracks at Yendi to address the recurrent conflicts experienced along the Eastern Corridor of the country.\u201d Mr Ali Adolf John, Northern Regional Minister<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will support you to leave an enviable legacy for the country. We thank you for appointing some of our industrious sons and daughters into your government\u201d, Naa Alhaji Alhassan Abukari Yakubu, Chief of Kasuliyili and Member of Council of Elders of NDC, Northern Region.<\/p>\n

President Mahama has arrived at the Jubilee Park in Tamale as park of his \u201cThank You Tour\u201d of the Northern Region following his victory in the Presidential Elections in December.<\/p>\n

President Mahama pledges to increase the number of public holidays for Sallah celebrations.<\/p>\n

This move, he notes, is to allow Ghanaian Muslims to fully observe their religious festivities without workplace restrictions.<\/p>\n

President Mahama pledges his government would invest in afforestation projects to combat deforestation and promote environmental sustainability in Northern Region.<\/p>\n

He outlines plans for infrastructure development for Northern Region to include an improvement in electricity supply, complete construction of the Eastern Corridor road to link the Northern Region through Yendi to Accra to enhance transportation, boost trade, and improve economic activities between northern and southern Ghana.<\/p>\n

Ya-Na Abukari II, King of Dagbon Traditional Area calls on President Mahama to fix Yendi water crisis which he says has impacted negatively on Yendi and its people.<\/p>\n

The Ya-Na calls on President Mahama to focus on development and the creation of jobs to engage teaming Ghanaian youth.<\/p>\n

President Mahama assures King of Dagbon that the government would address the issue of lack of water in Yendi and its environs with urgency.<\/p>\n

President Mahama expresses gratitude to the Ya-Na and the people of Yendi for their support throughout his campaign.<\/p>\n

Tamale is feverishly making preparations to host President John Dramani Mahama on his \u201cThank you Ghana\u201d tour of the Northern Region.<\/p>\n

The Jubilee Park in Tamale will host the president at 1400 hours, where he is expected to address Chiefs and People in the Metropolis, to express gratitude and outline specific projects for the region.<\/p>\n

Also, Ya-Na Abukari II, Overlord of Dagbon Traditional Area, will host the President in Yendi (the seat of Dagbon traditional Council) to a brief durbar.<\/p>\n
