USS Hershel \u201cWoody\u201d Williams has visited Tema port with the aim of supporting regional maritime security efforts from August 3 \u2013 August 16.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the conclusion of these engagements, Ambassador Stephanie S. Sullivan invited the Ghanaian government and military dignitaries for a ship tour led by Captain Chad Graham, commanding officer of USS Hershel \u201cWoody\u201d Williams.<\/p>\n

Ministry of Defense officials, Ghana Navy officers, and Members of Parliament toured the ship and viewed a flight deck demonstration of the ship\u2019s casualty and medical response capabilities.<\/p>\n

USS Hershel \u201cWoody\u201d Williams is the first warship permanently assigned to the U.S. Africa Command area of responsibility.<\/p>\n
