Une premi\u00e8re mondiale.<\/p>\n<p>Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une premi\u00e8re mondiale. Un foie humain a \u00e9t\u00e9 greff\u00e9 apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 trait\u00e9 puis conserv\u00e9 pendant pr\u00e8s de trois jours dans une machine \u00e0 perfusion. Une prouesse rendue possible gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une technologie mise au point par le groupe de recherche Suisse Liver4Life.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9quipe de recherche Liver4Life a mis au point avec succ\u00e8s une machine \u00e0 perfusion permettant la transplantation d\u2019un organe humain apr\u00e8s une p\u00e9riode de trois jours hors d\u2019un corps\u200b, indiquent les scientifiques dans un communiqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Cette machine imite aussi pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment que possible le fonctionnement du corps humain pour accueillir le greffon de foie. Une pompe sert de c\u0153ur, un oxyg\u00e9nateur fait office de poumons et une unit\u00e9 de dialyse assure le r\u00f4le des reins. Un m\u00e9lange d\u2019hormones et de nutriments vient aussi assurer les fonctions de l\u2019intestin et du pancr\u00e9as. Enfin, comme le diaphragme humain, la machine compresse le foie au rythme de la respiration humaine.<\/p>\n<p><b>Une technologie pour sauver des vies<\/b><\/p>\n<p>En temps normal, un greffon de foie ne peut \u00eatre conserv\u00e9 plus de douze heures. Pourtant, d\u00e8s 2020 Liver4Life avait utilis\u00e9 sa machine \u00e0 perfusion pour conserver un greffon pendant plusieurs jours.<\/p>\n<p>Ce qui avait permis de r\u00e9aliser la premi\u00e8re greffe a l\u2019aide de cette technologie en mai 2021. Le patient, alors atteint d\u2019un cancer, avait pu b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier du traitement dans un cadre exp\u00e9rimental.<\/p>\n<p>Un an apr\u00e8s la greffe, il est aujourd\u2019hui en bonne sant\u00e9. Notre th\u00e9rapie d\u00e9montre qu\u2019en traitant des greffes de foies dans la machine \u00e0 perfusion, on peut diminuer les dysfonctionnements de l\u2019organe et sauver des vies\u200b, indique le professeur Pierre-Alain Clavien, le chirurgien qui chapote le projet.<\/p>\n<p>La prochaine \u00e9tape va consister \u00e0 ouvrir la proc\u00e9dure \u00e0 d\u2019autres patients, pour r\u00e9colter un maximum de donn\u00e9es.
