Google est e\u0301galement tre\u0300s conscient qu\u2019une re\u0301volution du nume\u0301rique comme celle des IA pourrait le faire tomber de son pie\u0301destal, comme c\u2019est arrive\u0301 a\u0300 d\u2019autres, lorsque la firme avait lance\u0301 son moteur de recherche innovant a\u0300 la fin des anne\u0301es 1990. Pour ne pas partir trop tard, Google vient tout juste de de\u0301voiler sa re\u0301ponse a\u0300 OpenAI, avec un outil de chatbot baptise\u0301 \u00ab Bard \u00bb.<\/p>\n

Pour annoncer la nouvelle, c\u2019est Sundar Pichai, le patron de Google lui-me\u0302me, qui s\u2019est fendu d\u2019un article de blog. Dans un premier temps, Bard ne sera ouvert qu\u2019a\u0300 des testeurs dits de \u00ab confiance \u00bb, pour e\u0302tre ensuite libe\u0301re\u0301 aupre\u0300s du public dans \u00ab les semaines a\u0300 venir \u00bb. Sur le principe, Bard fonctionne de la me\u0302me fac\u0327on que ChatGPT. Il a e\u0301te\u0301 nourri par une vaste base de donne\u0301es documentaire pour ge\u0301ne\u0301rer des re\u0301ponses convaincantes aux questions des utilisateurs. L\u2019atout de Bard, par rapport a\u0300 ChatGPT dont la base de connaissance est limite\u0301e et s\u2019arre\u0302te en 2021, c\u2019est que son algorithme peut aller chercher les informations pour ses re\u0301ponses dans le Web. Et le Web, c\u2019est essentiellement la base d\u2019indexation de Google. Ce n’est pas tout, puisque Sundar Pichai a e\u0301galement explique\u0301 que des fonctionnalite\u0301s alimente\u0301es par l\u2019IA seraient associe\u0301es a\u0300 l\u2019outil de recherche.<\/p>\n

Une IA dans le moteur de recherche de Google<\/b><\/p>\n

Cette annonce est donc une fac\u0327on de couper la priorite\u0301 a\u0300 ChatGPT alors que l\u2019IA e\u0301tait capable de mettre en danger le moteur de recherche historique. C’est pourquoi avec la libe\u0301ration de Bard aupre\u0300s du grand public, Google franchit une ligne qu\u2019il he\u0301sitait a\u0300 passer jusqu\u2019a\u0300 l\u2019arrive\u0301e de ChatGPT. On peut de\u0301ja\u0300 constater les travers de cette IA doue\u0301e en rhe\u0301torique, mais qui sait mentir ou de\u0301sinformer avec conviction lorsqu\u2019elle n\u2019a pas les connaissances approprie\u0301es.<\/p>\n

Or, l\u2019inte\u0301gration d\u2019une me\u0302me IA dans un moteur de recherche avec la base de donne\u0301es colossale du Web pourrait comporter de sacre\u0301s risques en matie\u0300re de de\u0301sinformation. Pour rappel, l\u2019e\u0301te\u0301 dernier, l\u2019IA conversationnelle BlenderBot 3 de Facebook avait du\u0302 e\u0302tre abandonne\u0301e au bout de quelques semaines en raison de sa propension a\u0300 soutenir des propos conspirationnistes et antise\u0301mites. Elle allait chercher des informations sur Internet pour alimenter ses re\u0301ponses. Reste a\u0300 espe\u0301rer que Google a re\u0301ussi a\u0300 mettre en place des garde-fous.<\/p>\n
