Depuis, ces appareils sont devenus un outil essentiel pour nous aider a\u0300 mener notre vie. Mais modifient-ils aussi le fonctionnement de notre cerveau ?<\/p>\n

Comme beaucoup d\u2019entre nous, je passe beaucoup trop de temps sur mon te\u0301le\u0301phone portable. Et, comme beaucoup d\u2019entre nous, j\u2019en suis parfaitement conscient et je me sens souvent coupable.<\/p>\n

Parfois, je le laisse a\u0300 l\u2019autre bout de la maison ou je l\u2019e\u0301teins pour l\u2019utiliser moins souvent. Cependant, plus to\u0302t que je ne voudrais l\u2019admettre, je me retrouve a\u0300 marcher dans le couloir pour faire quelque chose que je dois faire et que je ne peux faire, ou faire plus efficacement, que sur mon te\u0301le\u0301phone.<\/p>\n

Payer une facture ? Organiser un rendez-vous au cafe\u0301 avec un ami ? Envoyer des messages a\u0300 des membres de la famille qui habitent loin ? Ve\u0301rifier la me\u0301te\u0301o, noter une ide\u0301e d\u2019article, prendre une photo ou une vide\u0301o, cre\u0301er un livre de photos, e\u0301couter un podcast, charger des indications routie\u0300res a\u0300 l\u2019aide du GPS, faire un calcul rapide, voire allumer une lampe de poche ? Te\u0301le\u0301phone, te\u0301le\u0301phone, te\u0301le\u0301phone.<\/p>\n

Selon un rapport re\u0301cent, les adultes ame\u0301ricains consultent leur te\u0301le\u0301phone portable 344 fois par jour en moyenne, soit une fois toutes les quatre minutes, et passent pre\u0300s de trois heures par jour sur leur appareil.<\/p>\n

Le proble\u0300me pour beaucoup d\u2019entre nous est qu\u2019une bre\u0300ve ta\u0302che lie\u0301e au te\u0301le\u0301phone conduit a\u0300 une ve\u0301rification rapide de notre courrier e\u0301lectronique ou des me\u0301dias sociaux, et que nous sommes soudain aspire\u0301s par un de\u0301filement sans fin (glisser verticalement sur un e\u0301cran tactile pour visualiser le contenu).<\/p>\n

C\u2019est un cercle vicieux. Plus nos te\u0301le\u0301phones sont utiles, plus nous les utilisons. Plus nous les utilisons, plus nous cre\u0301ons des voies neuronales qui nous poussent a\u0300 prendre notre te\u0301le\u0301phone pour effectuer n\u2019importe quelle ta\u0302che, et plus nous ressentons le besoin de le consulter me\u0302me lorsque ce n\u2019est pas ne\u0301cessaire.<\/p>\n

Si l\u2019on fait abstraction des aspects spe\u0301cifiques de notre monde hyperconnecte\u0301, tels que les me\u0301dias sociaux et leurs filtres de beaute\u0301 de plus en plus hyperre\u0301alistes, quels sont les effets de la de\u0301pendance a\u0300 l\u2019e\u0301gard de ces appareils sur notre cerveau ?<\/p>\n
