Africa-Press – Kenya. A new survey by Politrack Africa has unveiled members of the National Assembly and Senate who were rated highly by Kenyans in an opinion poll.
Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi topped the list of MPs after getting an approval rating of 82.6 per cent.
Kiharu MP Ndidi Nyoro was ranked second with an approval rating of 78.6 per cent while his Mavoko counterpart Patrick Makau was third with 78.5 per cent.
Kimilili MP Didmus Narasa and Embakasi MP Babu Owino were ranked fourth with an approval rating of 78.3 per cent.
Others were ranked as follows Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera (77.8 per cent), Bahati MP Irene Njoki (77.8 per cent), Keiyo South MP Gideon Kimayu, Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi, Mosop MP Abraham Kirwa.
Gatanga MP Edward Muriu and Wajir South MP Mohammed Adow both had 76.5 percent, Kinangop MP Kwenya Thuku had 75.9 per cent.
Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung;wah and Rangwe MP Lilian Gogo both had 75.7 per cent.
At the Senate Assembly, Makueni Senator Enoch Wambua took the lead with 73.2 per cent.
He was followed by Meru’s Kathuri Murungi who had 78.2 per cent.
Nyandarua senator John Methu was ranked third with 71.1 per cent.
Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale was ranked fourth with 70.9 per cent while Moses Kajwang of Homa Bay had 68.2 per cent and Kericho’s Aaron Cheruiyot got 68 per cent.
Others performed as follows Kiambu Karungo Thangwa (67.5 per cent), Madera’s Ali Roba 67.3 per cent and Nairobi’s Edwin Sifuna 66.4.
Narok Senator Ledama Olekin was ranked 10th with 66.0 per cent.
The survey was conducted between the 14th to 31st of August during which random, multi-stage stratified sampling using proportionate to population size methodology was used.
The survey had a margin error of + or – 1.254 per cent with a 95 per cent confidence level.
The survey was conducted in all 47 counties with a sampling size of 4,801. Telephonic interviews at the household levels were conducted.
Only Kenyan adults who are 18 years of age and above were interviewed.
