Africa-Press – Kenya. President William Ruto spent his day in Tana River County launching development projects.
He commissioned the Integrated Fruit Processing Plant Hola in Galledyertu, Tana River County.
The President said the plant has created 200 jobs and trained more than 1,000 farmers on best agricultural practices.
He said value addition will bring more money into the pockets of farmers.
“Promoting value addition and strengthening our production capacity is also a way to increase our participation in global markets, boost exports and earn foreign exchange,” he said.
The President also issued Fisheries Community Grant Cheques to support the fishing community in Tana River County.
Leaders who accompanied him include Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Rigathi, Cabinet Secretaries Kipchumba Murkomen, (Transport) Aisha Jumwa (Gender) Ezekiel Machogu (Education), MPs and MCAs among others.
