Africa-Press – Kenya. Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla was Thursday confirmed to have died in a chopper crash in Kaben, Marakwet East.
Ogolla was named the new Chief of Defence Forces in changes in the military on April 29, 2023.
Ogolla took over from General Robert Kibochi who left after attaining the mandatory exit age of 62 years.
Before his appointment, General Ogolla was the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces.
President William Ruto said Ogolla’s experience spanning over 39 years saw him promoted to the high office in the country’s military to replace Robert Kibochi upon his retirement.
