Africa-Press – Kenya. Semiconductor sales growth will ease globally in 2025, research firm Gartner said on Monday.
It predicted that growth in semiconductor sales will jump 18.8% in 2024 to $629.8 billion but 13.8% in 2025 to $716.7 billion.
Chip sales fell 11.7% in 2023 on a yearly basis to $530 billion.
Rajeev Rajput, senior principal analyst at Gartner, attributed the current surge to artificial intelligence, saying: “The growth is driven by a continued surge in AI-related semiconductor demand and recovery in electronic production.”
“Demand from the automotive and industrial sectors continues to be weak,” he added.
