Africa-Press – Kenya. The frequency of cyberattacks worldwide is increasing dramatically, posing a significant risk to organizations across all sectors.
Data tracking the average weekly cyberattacks per organization reveals a stark escalation over four years.
In the second quarter (Q2) of 2021, the average organization experienced 818 weekly incidents.
This figure has since more than doubled, soaring to 1,984 incidents per week by Q2 2025.
This represents an increase of over 142% during this period. The figures show a persistent, year-over-year rise, with the number hitting 1,163 in Q2 2022, 1,258 in Q2 2023, and 1,636 in Q2 2024 before reaching the projected 2025 peak.
This upward trend underscores the critical need for robust and evolving cybersecurity measures.
The escalating threat highlights why efforts like October’s Cyber Security Awareness Month are vital to encourage organizations and individuals to enhance their digital defenses against increasingly sophisticated adversaries.
