Africa-Press – Kenya. The Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin visited North Horr Police Station in Marsabit County as part of a security assessment tour of the county.

This is part of ongoing visits by police commanders to far flung areas to assess security measures taken by those on the ground during and after the festive season.

He had visited parts of Diani in Kwale.

The Director was received by North Horr Subcounty Police Commander Samuel Kiplong, alongside other officers from various units.

During the visit, Amin assessed security and delivered an engaging lecture to officers, highlighting the importance of professionalism, discipline, and dedication to duty.

He also conveyed New Year greetings from the Inspector General of the National Police Service, encouraging officers to stay committed to serving the public responsibly while maintaining the image of the National Police Service at all times.

“We are here to ensure you are protected in many ways as you work hard to protect the country at large,” he said.

Amin was accompanied by the Director of the National Central Bureau (NCB) at DCI Ibrahim Jillo and Adan Guyo, the Officer Commanding Capital Markets at DCI’s Investigations Bureau.

Also present were North Horr Subcounty Criminal Investigations Officer Job Wafula and Subcounty Administration Police Commander Paul Kathenya, among other officers.

The visit underscores the National Police Service’s commitment to strengthening security and ensuring that citizens can celebrate the festive season in peace.

It comes in the wake of heightened police operations in the region to tame different forms of crime, including terrorism, human smuggling and drug trafficking.

The area is seen as a main route for drug and human smuggling. It also has been seen as a transit point for terror groups headed for Somalia.

The security agencies have increased their presence in the region to tame the vices.
