Africa-Press – Kenya. Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka visited the home of Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu and former Senator and Commissioner Johnson Muthama to offer condolences following the death of their son, Moses Muthama Nduya.
In a show of solidarity, Kalonzo was joined by DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, ODM leader Oburu Oginga, Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr, and Reverend Dorcus Rigathi, as well as a host of political figures, including MPs Robert Mbui, Patrick Makau, Edith Nyenze, Jessica Mbalu, Kivasu Nzioka, Joshua Kimilu, Stephen Mule, Julius Mawathe, and Senators Dan Maanzo and Karungo Wa Thang’wa.
Wiper Party Deputy Organising Secretary Muriuki Ndwiga, MCAs from Kitui and Machakos counties, and other party leaders and young patriots also attended.
Kalonzo described the loss as “a moment of profound sorrow for both leaders and for their entire family. The loss of a child is a pain beyond human understanding, and to lose their only son is a burden no parent should ever have to bear.”
He praised Moses as “their pride and joy, a young man full of promise, purpose and dreams for the future. His life was a blessing to his parents and to all who knew him, and his memory will remain a source of strength and comfort even in this season of deep mourning.”
The Wiper leader added: “As Party Leader and as a friend, I stand in full solidarity with Senator Agnes Kavindu Muthama, Commissioner Johnson Muthama and their entire family. We mourn with you, we pray with you and we share in your loss. May the Almighty grant you strength, comfort and peace as you navigate this difficult season. May the soul of Moses Muthama Nduya rest in eternal peace.”
Family sources confirmed that Moses collapsed at home on February 4 and was rushed to a nearby medical facility.
In a heartfelt social media post, Johnson Muthama expressed the family’s grief. “It is with deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved son, Moses Muthama Nduya, who passed on yesterday. Moses was a joyful and diligent young man, and it is painful that his life was taken so soon. Though our hearts are heavy, we entrust him to God’s loving care. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
The visit by leaders from various parties underscored unity and compassion during the family’s time of mourning.
Kalonzo concluded his message with a personal note in Swahili: “Pole sana kwa wazazi wote wawili na familia nzima. Mungu awape nguvu, faraja na amani tele katika wakati huu mgumu sana,” wishing the grieving parents strength, comfort, and peace.
