Speaking at Harambee Annex in Nairobi, Mwaura dismissed claims that only certain leaders can unite the country, and urged Kenyans to give the administration time to implement its agenda.
“No president has accomplished as much as President Ruto has within three years,” Mwaura said, calling on leaders across the political divide to support the Head of State as they were supported during their own tenure in government.
He rejected suggestions that the country needs alternative leadership to remain united, saying President Ruto remains committed to his pledges.
“The President keeps his word and remains deeply committed to the people,” he said.
The remarks follow comments by critics where the government’s performance was questioned.
Mwaura noted that some opposition figures presenting themselves as alternatives are former government officials who appear nostalgic about their time in office.
“These leaders have gone to great lengths to position themselves as better suited to lead the nation,” he said, adding that Kenyans should allow President Ruto sufficient time to fulfil his promises.
To illustrate progress, Mwaura highlighted ongoing development projects, particularly in northern Kenya. He cited the construction of what he described as the first-ever stadium in Wajir since independence, which will host this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations.
He also pointed to new road projects and upgrades to a terminal and runway aimed at boosting business and economic growth in the region.
According to Mwaura, these initiatives show that the administration is focused on delivery and tangible development outcomes rather than political rhetoric.
While the opposition has criticised aspects of the government’s performance, the administration continues to defend its economic reforms, infrastructure projects, and social programmes.
