Africa-Press – Kenya. Title-chasing Ulinzi Starlets and champions Police Bullets resume their hunt for points against chasers Vihiga Queens and KIbera Soccer, respectively, in a Women’s Premier League double header at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday.

Starlets head coach Collins Ochieng is rallying his side for a statement response after a 2-1 loss to Trinity Starlets in Kisumu last weekend. He targets a return to the top of the standings and remain in the title conversation.

Ochieng’s charges head into the clash buoyed by a run built on discipline and efficiency. Recent matches have delivered mixed results with 1-0 wins over Police and Gideon Starlets before the Trinity setback.

Ulinzi are second on 41 points, just one behind leaders Kenya Police Bullets. “We have prepared well and we want maximum points,” Ochieng’ said, noting that a win over Vihiga will restore momentum at a critical phase of the campaign.

Vihiga Queens arrive with a pedigree and purpose despite recent inconsistent returns. Their position in fourth on 30 points masks a side still capable of influencing the title race, particularly with their history as four-time champions.

Head coach Boniface Nyamunyamuh acknowledged the challenge ahead, revealing that, despite missing three players through injury, he has depth to remain competitive.

“It will be tough but we are ready,” he said.

At the summit, Kenya Police Bullets continue to combine resilience with attacking fluency, evidenced by a commanding 3-0 victory over Zetech Sparks last weekend.

Their preparations included a midweek friendly match against the Junior Starlets. They face a Kibera Soccer Women side, fifth on 28 points, and who look to close the gap on the title favouritves.

It will be an emotional affair as Police tactician, David Vijago, faces his former side. Elsewhere, Trinity Starlets, who have strengthened their third-place grip on 34 points after back-to-back wins over KISPED Queens (1-0) before upsetting Ulinzi, remain within striking distance. Tickets retail at Sh500 for VIPs and Sh100 for regulars.
