Africa-Press – Kenya. Update: KWS wardens have successfully captured and vacated a stray lioness found in a residential apartment block near Tuskys area, Ongata Rongai.
In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, five wardens lifted what appears to a sedated lion onto a green cloth.
The wardens then carried the lioness into an awaiting KWS land cruiser vehicle parkded outside the compound as a crowd of people watched.

A stray lioness was spotted in a plot in Ongata Rongai near Tuskys on Wednesday, July 28.
The lioness was found hidden in the corridors of the apartment building. The Kenya Wildlife Service officers (KWS) and police officers arrived at the location to contain the situation.
In an image seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the lioness is seen laying in a narrow alley between a building wall and an iron sheet fence.
The KWS officers assisted by police officers have dispersed the crowd that had assembled to get a glimpse of the lion. Any noise from the crowd would easily agitate it.
On December 9 2019, a casual labourer was mouled by a lion in Ongata Rongai. Simon Kipkurui ‘s employer found a lion feasting on his remains.
Kikurui had been reported missing since December 6. His employer tried to scare away the lion but it did not leave.
On March 18, 2016, a stray lion attacked an elderly man walking from the Nairobi national park after straying from the park. The lion had earlier on during the day been spotted along Mombasa road.
KWS Spokesman Paul Udoto explained that the black-maned lion swiped at the man after it became agitated by the honking of vehicle horns from passing cars.
This came barely three days after two other lions were spotted on traffic along Mombasa Road.
In 2016, police spotted two lions believed to have strayed from the Nairobi National Park at Karen Blixen area Nairobi.
In that same year, lions were also spotted roaming in Kibera Slums.
