Africa-Press – Kenya. Kenya on Saturday recorded 300 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country’s case load to 320,138 , Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said.
The CS in a press briefing confirmed that this was from a sample size of 6,072 recording a positivity rate of 4.9 per cent.
The cumulative tests stand at 3,183,057.
The country’s fatalities have risen to 5,531 after another three patients succumbed to the disease.
Kagwe said that there are 814 patients currently admitted in various hospitals across the country. Another, 6,801 patients are on the home-based care programme.
A total of 46 patients are in ICU, out of which 44 are on ventilatory support.
Also, 199 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, out of which 197 are in general wards and two in the HDU.
Meanwhile, 1,123 patients have recovered from the disease out of which 1,001 were from the Homebased care program while 122 were discharged from various health facilities.
Kenya’s recoveries now stand at 289,547.
