Africa-Press – Kenya. Police in Homa Bay on Wednesday arrested a suspected serial bhang dealer from the Kakelo Dudi sub-location for trafficking a total of 3,900 rolls of bhang.

Kennedy Odhiambo Oyoo, who according to the National Police Service has always outsmarted officers when a dragnet is laid to nab him, was caught during a crackdown operation on illicit brews and drugs.

The haul of bhang was recovered from his house on diverse dates.

On October 11, 2021, officers impounded a haul of 800 rolls of the illegal herb in Homabay.

The rolls allegedly belonged to Odhiambo.

The area’s County Commander Esther Seroney reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance of drug trafficking and possession.

Odhiambo is in custody awaiting arraignment.

“He will be arraigned and be served his just deserts for all the harm he has caused within his community and beyond,” NPS said.

This comes a day after a truck driver was arrested in Webuye, Bungoma for trafficking bhang between Kenya and Uganda.

The driver was arrested along Webuye- Malaba road at pan paper area ferrying 50 sacks of bhang from Uganda to Mombasa.

The bhang was tied up in sacks to resemble mitumba.

Webuye East OCPD Martha Ng’etich said after the forensic audit from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation Department, it was realized that the value of the herb was estimated at Sh15 million.
