Africa-Press – Kenya. Lawyer Donald Kipkorir claims President William Ruto is behind schedule in his quest to transform Kenya.

Kipkorir said on Thursday Ruto should have rid his administration of the old system as soon as he was sworn-in for his reform agenda to remain on course.

“If President William Ruto needs to transform Kenya, he is running late. A new leader overthrows the old system immediately before old forces reorganize,” Kipkorir said.

He said that transformative leaders should behave like coup leaders by making revolutionary changes the same day they assume office.

Since taking oath of office on September 13, Ruto has been chairing Cabinet meetings with the cabinet secretaries who served in retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime.

Towards the end of last month, the President unveiled the names of his cabinet nominees whose vetting is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 18 through to Saturday, October 22.

The nominees will face a 15-member vetting committee chaired by Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula.

The committee which was unveiled on Wednesday will review the suitability of the 22 men and women nominated by President William Ruto to serve in the next Cabinet.

In a notice by the Clerk of the National Assembly Sarah Kioko on Wednesday, the nominees will each be assigned specific time and day when to appear before the Committee on Appointments panel.

In the notice, the candidates are required to present before the committee their original IDs, academic and professional certificates and letters of clearance and compliance from EACC, KRA, HELB, DCI and CRB.
