The six-day championship tips off Tuesday on the Indian Ocean Island with two teams proceeding to the next stage of the event.
Players in the team are John Wiljas, Lennox Wanje, Frank Ouko, Nicholas Ogol and Victor Odendo. Others are Lowman Wade, Martin Kitongo, Situma Khaemba, Job Byron, Denis Koja and Eugene Adera.
Others named on the side are Ariel Okal and Kenneth Wachira who plays in Uganda as well as an American Tony Townsend. Kenya Morans head coach Cliff Owuor will lead the side assisted by Sammy Kiki, Anthony Ojukwu and Mike Opel.
Meanwhile, the University of Nairobi “Dynamites” came from a 22-11 half-time deficit to beat Strathmore University Swords 45-41 while in another match Miriam Ingasian basket ensured Kenyatta University “Oryx” defeated Eagle Wings 36-35 in a closely fought tie.
In the lower division matches, the United States International University (USIU) deflated Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) 67-50 while Kisii Neighbors won 81-76 against Far Eastern Basketball in another fixture
