Africa-Press – Kenya. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has summoned top officials of the National Land Commission over the controversy surrounding the Dongo-Kundu Kipevu Road and Standard Gauge Railway in Mombasa.
The commission’s Lower Coast Region office summoned the officials about investigations into irregular allocation and unlawful compensation of parcels of land in the area.
“To facilitate our investigations, kindly the under-listed officials to avail themselves for interview and statement recording as scheduled at Integrity Centre situated at the Jakaya Kikwete/Valley Road junction,” the letter to acting NLC chief executive officer Kabale Tache Arero said.
Sixteen people are expected to appear before EACC detectives for interrogation between November 14-18.
Among those summoned include vice chairperson Abigael Mbagaya, who is scheduled to appear before the commission on Monday at 10.30 am and former NLC chairperson Muhammad Swazuri (8.30 am).
Also appearing on Monday are Samuel Tororei and Abdulkadir Khalif.
Other people summoned are Silas Kinoti, Clement Lenachuru, Emma Njogu, Rose Musyoka, T.M Konyimbih, Salome Munubi, Wahome Murakaru, Joash Oindo, Francis Mugo, Bernard Cheruiyot, Derek Muchemi and Jecinta Mutua.
