Africa-Press – Kenya. KCB will be chasing a fourth consecutive Floodlit title when they confront Nondies in the Saturday evening final at Impala.

The bankers have been building up slowly to the championship match. They started off with a scrappy 14-10 win over Quins before a routine 14-3 win over Blak Blad in the semifinal.

Assistant coach Mark Mshila expects the Nondies to give them a stern test in the final. “We know what to expect from them. So far, they have beaten Impala and the Oilers and we can’t afford to underestimate them. All the same, we expect an exciting final,” he noted.

Kenya Simbas international Davis Chenge said the team is relishing the challenge and have had a good week of training.

“We have looked at the areas we have struggled in the tournament so far and we hope to put up a complete 80-minute performance on Saturday,” said Chenge.

The holders have made one change to the team for the final with Bill Omondi dropped to the bench.

Positional changes have also been effected with Festus Shiasi moving to the right wing and Mike Kimwele going the opposite direction.

Kenya Sevens Levi Amunga starts at fly-half and will partner Bob Muhati with Brian Wahinya getting the nod at scrumhalf.

Former Kenya Sevens skipper Andrew Amonde, Chenge, Peter Waitere and Nelson Nyandatt will be the key actors in the backline for the Thika-Road outfit.

On their part, Nondies are seeking a first Floodlit title since 2012 when they beat Mean Machine 17-12.

Key actors for the Jamhuri Park-based side will be skipper Steve Odhiambo, Brian Amaitsa, Benjamin Marshall, Ben Salem and Brian Sinei.

Nondies beat Impala 33-7 in the last eight before causing a huge upset by knocking out Menengai Oilers 16-11 in the semifinals.

The match will kick off at 7:30 pm and will be preceded by the third-place playoff match, pitting Menengai Oilers vs Blak Blad.
