Africa-Press – Kenya. Butali Warriors made light work of Mombasa Sports Club, humiliating the minnows 6-0 in a men’s Hockey Premier League match at the City Park Stadium on Saturday.

Veteran attacker Zack Aura opened the scoring in the 25th minute to give the defending champions a deserved lead.

Festus Onyango, who has been in imperious form, scored a nine-minute hattrick in the 26th, 33rd and 35th minutes respectively. George Mutira (30th minute) and Arif Shah (37th minute) completed the rout in a one-sided affair.

Elsewhere, Western Jaguars extended their rich form of vein, scalping Greensharks 3-1. Jaguars found the back of the net via a Jacob Wandera brace. The all-action midfielder scored in the 6th and 28th minutes. Derrick Juma put the game to bed rendering Benson Mawich’s eighth-minute strike a consolation.

In the men’s Super League, Abdul Buke’s brace was all that Kenyatta University needed to overpower Multimedia University 2-1 in a varsity derby. KU had to come from behind to win after Clinton Nandwa had given MMU a 19th-minute shock lead.

Brian Kiptum scored a double for Kenya College of Accountancy University KCA in their 2-0 win over Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Kiptum scored in the first and 25th minutes.

Despite scoring first, MMU lost 2-1 to JKUAT in a women’s Super League match. Rael Kiptoo’s 21st minute goal was short-lived as Rose Wambugu and Felister Njoki scored in the second and third quarters to mastermind a rare comeback for JKUAT.
