Bitok welcomes new FIVB position and promises to deliver

Africa-Press – Kenya. Malkia Strikers coach Paul Bitok has announced that he will soon retire to venture into volleyball management. Bitok, who recently got an instructor’s position at the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), said he was happy that his candidacy was accepted.

He promised to work well with the federation to develop the sport around the world. “Teaching coaches around the world will be one of the greatest achievements I have had in my career over the years. This will allow me to share the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years,” said Bitok.

He said his career has been growing every day, after metamorphosing from a player to a coach in Kenya. He has also had coaching stints with Rwanda national team and was appointed to the CAVB Coaches Commission.

“Since I started this journey, it has been extended and very successful. Serving as an African instructor and heading to the world means someone has seen my potential and given me such a great job.

“This is the highest position I have attained in my career. I have everything needed and I will be passing on the knowledge I got to many coaches,” he said. Bitok’s appointment was announced on Friday when he received his appointment letter from FIVB.

“The FIVB is very pleased to appoint Paul Bitok as an instructor after his candidacy was reviewed and recommended by members of the FIVB Technical and Coaching Commission,” read the letter in part.

“The FIVB as the governing body of volleyball and beach volleyball by letter dated December 6, 2022, announces that Mr. Paul Bitok Busienel, a Kenyan national is now recognized as an FIVB instructor in volleyball. This is in addition to his appointment as a CAVB instructor.” Bitok’s candidacy was reviewed and recommended by members of the FIVB Technical and Training Commission.
