Africa-Press – Kenya. Embattled Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza on Tuesday met with Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi. Kawira shared details of their meeting on her official Facebook page which she captioned “Meru must be happy.”
She also shared photos of herself and Linturi shaking hands. This comes as the hearing of Mwangaza’s impeachment motion begins at the Senate. The Senate decided on an 11-member committee to investigate the case raised against Mwangaza by the Meru Members of the County Assembly.
Mwangaza and Linturi were rivals at the August 9 general elections where both of them vied for the gubernatorial seat. The besieged governor had blamed Meru Senator Kathuri Murungi for her woes claiming that Murungi had kicked off his 2027 gubernatorial campaign.
She had also claimed that Murungi was not interested in a truce between her and Meru MCAs. Murungi had also faulted the move by Mwangaza to seek help from President William Ruto terming it, embarrassing.
Mwangaza had equated her woes to those the President faced before he became Head of State. “Our beloved President, the great servant of God, David and I are in the same WhatsApp group. We have gone through a lot of suffering but God also saved us ,” she said.
