Africa-Press – Kenya. Igembe political leaders and professionals have urged Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu to gazette Igembe Campus. They fronted their request to Machogu on Wednesday during a meeting at Jogoo House.
The leaders were led by Meru county Deputy Governor Isaac Mutuma. They also requested that the campus be awarded a charter and more government funding to expand the institution’s infrastructure.
CS Machogu urged the leaders to come up with sustainable strategies that will ensure low dependence on government funding as public universities debts now hit more than Sh56 billion.
