Africa-Press – Kenya. Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has said that the Orange Democratic Movement is on its deathbed. after key Azimio leaders missed the Wednesday prayer rally at Jevanjee.

Speaking on Thursday, Khalwale said that ODM and Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s style of leadership can no longer hold the party together ahead of the 2027 elections.

“ODM and Raila’s style of politics has now invited the principle of product fatigue, I was in a meeting with ranking ODM MPs and they told us they were not going to Jevanjee Gardens,” he said.

Khalwale claimed he knows a number of MPs who said they were not going to attend the Jevanjee prayer rally. Several Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s allies missed the Jevanjee Gardens prayers on Wednesday.

The interdenominational prayers were convened to present before God, the state of the country. Accompanying Raila to the grounds were Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Roots leader George Wajackoyah.

Others were Narok Senator Ledama Olekina, Senate Minority leader Stewart Madzayo, Nairobi ODM chairman George Aladwa, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua, former Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa, former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Jeremiah Kioni.

Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi, Nairobi Women Rep Esther Passaris, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo, Likoni MP Mishi Mboko, Embakasi South MP Mawathe and Beatrice Ogolla were also present.

Leaders including Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi and Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi sent their apologies. “We have apologies from Babu Owino, Wanyonyi and Elachi,” Wandayi said.

However, some of the big names in the coalition who missed the event are Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth and former governors Hassan Joho (Mombasa) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui). Raila has been leading a series of anti-government campaigns countrywide.
