Africa-Press – Kenya. Azimio leader Raila Odinga on Friday held an impromptu rally in Githurai, Kiambu county, vowing to push on with his resistance against the government.
The Azimio leader told the public that he will remain vigilant against the Kenya Kwanza administration’s excesses.
Raila rubbished Ruto’s claim on Thursday that the IEBC had opened the servers during the election period and during the Supreme Court ruling.
“I heard Ruto lie that the servers were opened, the servers were not opened because they refused to do so when the Supreme Court directed them,” Raila.
Raila asked the public not to fear anyone in authority when he will call for street protests in the next 12 days.
“Let no one intimidate you, what we are doing is legal,” Raila said.
The ODM leaders accused President Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua of throwing Kenyans under the bus.
“The hustlers have run away and have left Kenyans on their own, and that is why we want the cost of living to come down,” he said.
Raila who was accompanied by his former running mate and Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua said once the 14 days ultimatum ends, he will call ‘soldiers to order’.
“The subsidies that President Kenyatta had rolled out must be reinstated so that they can cushion Kenyans,” Raila said.
Karua said Kenyans should not be intimidated because they are exercising their constitutional rights to demand better services from the government.
“You are born once and you die once, let nobody threaten you,” Karua said.
