Wamalwa tells off Kenya Kwanza for 'buying' Azimio MPs

Africa-Press – Kenya. DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa has accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of crippling the Opposition by ‘buying Azimio MPs.

Wamalwa said Azimio had more MPS and more governors compared to the ruling coalition following the August General Elections last year.

He said the Kenya Kwanza regime has taken to buying MPs for numerical advantage in Parliament to ensure they suppress the Opposition.

“We are happy to have leaders like Dick Maungu and Godfrey Osotsi who stand on their own,” Wamalwa said.

The former Cabinet secretary was speaking on Saturday at Esiandumba grounds during the homecoming party of Luanda MP Dick Maungu.

Wamalwa likened the buying of opposition MPs to putting the Kenyan democracy at risk.

He said once the legislators who have crossed camp are sabotaging democracy.

“It’s better to have few people but who can defend Kenyans’ democracy and that’s what we are for,” he said.

“We are left with only 11 days and the directive you will give us Baba Raila, that’s what we shall go with,” Wamalwa added.

Raila on Wednesday gave the Kenya Kwanza administration a 14-day ultimatum to lower the cost of living or face mass action.

Wamalwa said they are having citizen barazas because the nation is at risk.

He accused DP Rigathi Gachagua for taking Kenya as a private company.
