Why has Karua blocked me after supporting her – Kabando

Africa-Press – Kenya. Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament Kabando wa Kabando has taken to Twitter to lament after he was blocked by Narc Kenya Leader Martha Karua. While declaring that Karua was a choice of Deputy President in the August 9 polls, Kabando said he still holds Karua as a leader of integrity.

“I, on a number of times, pleaded with Martha Karua to unblock our friend, her colleague SC Ahmednasir and her Linda katiba colleague Jerotich Seii,” he said.

Kabando revealed that he left Narc Kenya party on principle. “I only exited Narc on principle. Why has my choice DP now blocked me? Oh my!” he said. Kabando also stated that he will not hold political grudges

“I pray that Mama finds it in her to tolerate corrections, even criticism. Many of us have worked too hard to convince many out there who always warned us of this. Now they’re laughing at me, us. In retrospect, I thank God we lost!”

On February 22, the two engaged in a Twitter exchange over the Narc Kenya party. It all started when Kabando revealed that he wouldn’t have left the party if he won in the August 2022 polls.

“True, I wouldn’t have quit the party if I won, in which case I would have had a position of influence and authority in the party,” he said.

He was then vying for Nyeri’s Senatorial seat. Kabando revealed that it was the prevailing status and lack of basic party processes that caused him to quit.

Defending his move, he said quitting is a decent thing to do in the face of unyielding circumstances rather than rock boat. Early this month, Kabando exited the Narc party which he joined in March last year as a matter of conscience and principle.

Responding to his claims of lack of basic party processes, Karua who is the Narc Kenya party leader argued that Kabando never took his time to learn the party.

“You never took time to know the party. Narc Kenya is well-run and institutionalised. The party leader is not the party,” she said. Firing back at Karua, Kabando questioned why Karua, as the party leader, was the only one answering such simple queries if the party is well run.

“If the party is institutionalised, other party officials would also be visible. I explained myself in detail via private mail to you, in which case I’d rather leave it there. Stop fighting me,” he said

Responding to the former party member, Karua told off Kabando and asked him to tell the truth about why he left the party. “I answer you because you are on my timeline. Tell the truth. Other than texting and calling me did you ever go to the party offices or seek out any other official,” she said.
