Africa-Press – Kenya. Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on Wednesday arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan for a three-day official visit.
It is his third official foreign trip as Prime CS where he will represent President William Ruto at the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Contact Group member meeting in response to the post-Covid-19 pandemic.
Mudavadi is accompanied by his wife Tessie.
“Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev received me and my wife Tessie at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku City. I thank the government and people of Azerbaijan for the warm reception,” he said in a statement through his social media handle.
A red carpet was rolled for the Prime CS upon arrival at the airport.
On his first official foreign trip, Mudavadi travelled to the UK on December 10, 2022, to attend the Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit in London.
He represented Ruto at the two-day conference which among other things looked at strategies for a just and secure transition to sustainable energy, food security and resilience.
He went on his second trip to Brazil for the inauguration of Lula da Silva as the country’s 39th President on January 1.
“I will be representing the country in Brazil’s inauguration of a newly elected President Lula,” he said.
The Prime CS was also accompanied by his wife during the trip.
