Africa-Press – Kenya. The Kenya Volleyball Federation has released the final list of 27 aspirants who will contest for the various positions during the national elections set for April 29.

The vacant presidential seat has attracted the trio of Charles Nyaberi, David Kilundo and Edward Nalianya. National women’s team coach Paul Bitok is unopposed in the Deputy President seat.

Ibrahim Efumbi and Kenneth Tonui will battle for the second vice president position. Hellen Gichuru, the Kenya Pipeline team manager is unopposed for the vice president gender seat currently held by Lilian Mududa.

Sports organising secretary Ishmael Chege is eyeing the secretary general post but must starve stiff competition from Catherine Mabwi who is the deputy secretary general. Samuel Gacharira is unopposed in the deputy secretary general seat.

Former Kenyan international Benard Musumba faces off with Equity Bank team manager Nicholas Bitok for the treasurer position. Esther Mutemi is unopposed for the deputy treasurer position.

John Oronje and John Odundo square it out in the sports organising secretary position. The deputy sports organising secretary post has attracted five contestants namely; Alfred Chedotum, Agnes Masalange, Wilfred Mutuma, Gideon Chenje and Arthur Kimani.

Wachira Gatuiria, the Kenya Forest Service team manager, highlights the contestants for the committee member position. Others are Ndasaba Dorcas, Samuel Nyangweso and Neddy Talam. Charles Bosire and Daniel Kiptoo battle for the one-slot male athlete representative while Brackcides Khadambi is unopposed in the female category.
